Tributes to ‘fun, bright’ boy, 13, killed in crash

A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, died in a tragic collision in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, on Friday night. The incident occurred at 23:50 BST, involving a car, a bicycle, and a scooter. Two other teenagers sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. His family released a heartfelt statement, expressing their profound grief. “We are utterly devastated,” they said, highlighting Noah’s cherished relationships with friends and family. “He was the heart of our world,” they added, emphasizing his vibrant personality and passion for sports.

Family’s heartfelt message

“His favorite sport was football, though he excelled in rugby, cricket, and athletics. Noah was not only athletic but also a joy to be around, always bringing energy and laughter. Outside of organized games, he thrived in adventure, loving the gym and bike parks for their challenges.”

Police confirmed that a 24-year-old man, Jamie Fountain, and a 23-year-old woman, Ellie Ireland, have been charged in connection with the crash. Fountain faces multiple offenses, including causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He is also accused of causing serious injuries to two boys and conspiring to pervert the course of justice. Ireland has been charged with the same conspiracy charge. Both are set to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Of the two injured teenagers, one remains in hospital with serious injuries, while the other was treated and released, according to police. The family described Noah as “fun, bright, handsome, athletic,” underscoring his positive impact on those around him. Their loss leaves a lasting void, they said, noting the enduring presence of his spirit in their lives.
