Child dies in dog attack, police say

Child’s Life Lost in Alleged Dog Attack

Cleveland Police confirmed a child’s death following a suspected dog attack. The incident occurred at an address on Hardale Grove in Dormanstown, Redcar, shortly after 13:30 BST, after reports of a child in danger were received.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the child deceased, with authorities suspecting a dog bite as the cause. One canine was removed from the street, while another was taken into custody at the scene. The BBC sought details from police regarding the child’s age and the breeds of the involved dogs.

Investigation Underway

Emily Harrison, the district commander for Redcar and Cleveland, stated that officers were still at the location while the investigation continued. “This is a deeply upsetting and sorrowful event, and we extend our sympathy to the child’s family,” Harrison remarked.

“I would urge anyone with worries or insights to contact an officer,” Harrison added.
