Women seen with Stephen Hawking in Epstein files ‘are his carers’

It has come to light that the women seen with Stephen Hawking in a deckchair sipping cocktails are his carers, according to newly released documents. The wheelchair-bound physicist appears at ease in the images, which depict him engaging with one of his round-the-clock attendants during a casual moment.

A trip to the United States, funded by Jeffrey Epstein, included 21 scientists and Hawking’s two regular British carers in 2007. Among the photographs shared by the Department of Justice, one shows a red-haired woman conversing with Hawking at a nighttime barbecue at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, where he delivered a lecture on Quantum Cosmology.

The bikini image, initially shared on an accessibility blog, was authorized by Hawking himself. Another photo captures a blonde woman supporting him on a modified submarine, an event Epstein is believed to have orchestrated as part of a “make-a-wish” endeavor.

Hawking family statement

Professor Hawking made some of the greatest contributions to physics in the 20th century while also being the longest-known survivor of motor neurone disease, a condition that required constant medical assistance and reliance on a wheelchair, ventilator, and voice synthesiser.

‘Any suggestion of improper behavior is unfounded and overly dramatic,’ a family representative added.

Epstein and Hawking are not depicted together in the files, leaving the precise nature of their connection unclear. A leaked email from David Grosof to Epstein hints at the professor’s involvement in the submarine venture, suggesting it was part of a “wish-fulfillment” campaign.

Epstein’s correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015 revealed his plan to discredit allegations of Hawking’s participation in a underage gathering. He proposed offering rewards to Virginia Giuffre’s associates if they testified against her, citing the Clinton dinner and a later event in the Virgin Islands as key evidence.

At one point, a redacted email recommended the YouTube trailer for *The Theory of Everything* to Epstein, referencing the film about Hawking’s life, starring Eddie Redmayne. Born in Oxford in 1942, Hawking’s early years were marked by a family background steeped in academia. His mother, a medical institute secretary, came from a line of doctors, while his father worked at the National Institute for Medical Research.

After studying at St Albans in Hertfordshire, Hawking attended University College, Oxford, where his academic work was unchallenging. However, he began to develop a social life and coxed a rowing team during his time at the university. His graduate studies in cosmology at Cambridge led to groundbreaking research on black holes, with his first major thesis approved in 1966.

Throughout his career, Hawking frequently challenged his peers’ theories in public forums. He met Jane Wilde in 1963 at the age of 21, and their relationship deepened over time. They exchanged vows in 1965, with Hawking using a walking stick at the ceremony. Their union lasted three decades, producing three children: Robert, Lucy, and Tim.

By the late 1980s, Hawking’s bond with his nurse Elaine Mason grew stronger, while his marriage to Jane began to strain under the demands of his scientific pursuits. The couple separated in 1995, five years after Hawking moved out of their home to live separately.
