Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead

Additional Murder Arrests Following Tragic Shooting of 14-Year-Old Boy

Woolwich Incident Sparks Increased Police Activity

A 14-year-old boy, Eghosa Ogbebor, lost his life in a shooting on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich, south-east London, around 15:40 BST on Thursday. The Met Police confirmed that two further suspects were detained on Saturday, while a 46-year-old man was also taken into custody for aiding the offender.

On Friday, three individuals were arrested in connection with the case—two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—but were later released on bail. Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, overseeing the investigation, noted that the team is intensifying efforts to uncover details surrounding the boy’s fatal shooting.

“Residents in Woolwich might have observed heightened police activity the previous night as officers pursued additional leads,” Card stated. “We recognize the emotional impact of Eghosa’s death, especially within the local community, and are committed to maintaining a visible presence to reassure them.” She emphasized the importance of public cooperation, asking anyone with insights or sightings of unusual behavior to reach out to authorities.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with more arrests expected as the inquiry progresses. Updates will be shared as new information emerges.
